Producer sessions and beat licences

Producer session

A producer session buys the room, the producer and the beat made in the session, as a demo. It does not license the beat, and it does not by itself give you the right to release the record. The Producer Session Terms, accepted at booking, set out the ownership of the recording and the beat.

First refusal: 30 days

For 30 days after the session you alone may license the record. Email the studio with your booking reference and the licence you want; the licence applies from the day the fee is paid.

Lease · $100

You own the recording and release it yourself. Up to 100,000 streams and one music video; short social clips do not count. No radio and no sync. The producer keeps the beat and may license it to others, so other records may use the same beat.

Exclusive · $500

Exclusive rights to the beat, which is removed from sale permanently. No stream cap; radio and sync included; stems delivered. The recording is yours. A lease already paid on the same beat is credited in full.

The song

On every beat licence the producer keeps 50% of the composition. The other 50% is the artist’s side, shared with any writer in the session as they agree in writing.

After first refusal · $200 or $1,000

If no licence is bought within the 30 days, the beat goes back to the producer, and the record is not released without a licence. While the beat is free, a Lease is $200 and the Exclusive is $1,000, agreed with the studio by reply to the confirmation email.

Master ownership

Room or engineer session

The artist owns the recording once the session is paid; no further licence is required.

Lease or exclusive

The artist owns the master and may release it through any distributor; Authxntic has no interest in the record.

After first refusal

The beat is the producer’s again, and the record is not released without a licence. A licence agreed later is at the prices above, while the beat is free.

The terms

Every booking accepts the text published on the terms page, and every version is kept at its own address for the bookings that accepted it.
